Canadian dad dies trying to rescue 5-year-old daughter

He was a father. He was brave. He was 39-year-old Yuji Hu, a dad from Calgary, Canada and he died trying to save his 5-year-old daughter when a massive 15- to 20-foot wave swept her into the ocean.

In an act of pure love, he ran into the stormy surf. The mother tried too, but only she made it back.

Bystanders and an off-duty parks officer managed to pull him out, but despite CPR, he couldn’t be saved.

A multi-agency search for his daughter ensued  and now a body matching her description has washed ashore.

His sacrifice is heartbreaking. His courage is unforgettable. Ask yourself: what would you risk to save someone you love?

Rest in peace, hero. 💔
