Papillary and Follicular thyroid cancer



 Thyroid cancer occurs in our thyroid gland which is butterfly shaped gland located in Infront of the neck.It produces Thyroxin hormone which is essential to maintain our cellular activities.

When there’s a cancer in thyroid gland its own cells get divided in high abnormal amounts .So gland may get enlarged.This abnormal division is resulted from gene mutations.These abnormal cells are called as Cancer Cells.These cells can spread into neighbor tissues or tissues located all around the body

Papillary thyroid cancer(carcinoma) is the most commonest type of cancer in thyroid gland.This cancer mostly spread tissues which located around the thyroid glands via lymphatics.But less commonly can spread to lungs and bones.

Follicular thyroid cancer(carcinoma) is the second most commonest type and spreads around the body via blood.Mostly lungs and bones get affected.Local(tissues around the thyroid gland) spread not seen in this type However it’s common among females.
